Champions for Financial Legacy (CFFL) is a 360-degree financial education program designed to strengthen wealth-building skills and socioeconomic mobility for underserved students and communities.

Modeled after curriculum from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Bridges to Wealth, CFFL brings financial fluency education to students and communities through a comprehensive, applied approach.

CFFL is supported by the Shawn Carter Foundation in collaboration with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, with generous support from Toyota.

  • Students embark on an empowering adventure with financial fluency as their superpower, sharing this incredible knowledge with their families and communities, sparking a ripple effect of empowerment far and wide.
  • Both community members and students increase their self-esteem and feel more confident in planning their financial futures.
  • The program integrates the learnings of financial education with community service opportunities.
  • By educating students, we begin to change the trajectory of intergenerational wealth. This is the first step in building wealth for future generations.

How CFFL Works

HBCUs adopt the program

We provide free access to CFFL’s Wharton-developed financial education curriculum.

  • All course materials, training, and the learning platform are provided at no additional cost to administrators, faculty and students
  • Faculty receive hands-on training and professional development

Students gain practical wealth-building skills

Students learn to navigate the stock market, invest safely, budget effectively, manage credit scores, and control debt.

  • Empowers students with the skills they need to thrive after graduation

 

Empowered scholars transform into community champions

Scholars pay it forward by translating their learning into engaging workshops and directly sharing valuable curriculum with local underserved communities.
